Testimony

With this testimony we would like to honour our God.

In the beginning of the year our old camera broke. We took out memory card and could not put it back anymore. Some details even pop out from it. 

Then we started to look for the new one in the shops, of course, better than previous;) We found one SLR camera and we decided to buy it. We were waiting for next incomes. But suddenly God called us to Bible school. We knew that we will need a lot of money for the living in Israel and this is not the right time to buy something expensive, but we already so wanted this camera that we even did not pay attention on God’s view of this purchase. Besides, what could be God’s thoughts about the camera, if it is obvious that we need camera more than ever before because it could be so stupid to go to such a beautiful country and take just 9 pictures (so many we could save in internal memory), run back home, download in computer and continuing to take 9 pictures again.

As I wrote in testimony about How God called us to Israel, He send me one unexpected order so we decided that from this money we will buy our new super camera (there was the exact amount to pay for the Bible school and it was obvious that the money was for it not for the camera).

Then one evening I was sitting by the table, next to me was our old camera with broken memory card, and suddenly I was thinking that I would be so disappointed if somebody would bless us with the same camera as we had. Then I turned to Alex and tell him about my thoughts and we decided that this is not the right way to follow God with that kind of heart’s attitude. We were talking about how we are feeling for some while and realise that we were like hypocrites who are just pretending that we gave up everything to God, all our life by raising up our hands but in the meanwhile hiding behind our idea about the camera. So, we started to pray and repent. Alex stopped and said: “God just said me that I’m a liar!”. He explained that if we could minimise the MB for each photo we could take 47 photos. Picture would be just 2 MB, not 10, but this is at least some kind of solution. So we continued to pray and after that we said to God: “Ok, if it is Your will for us to go there and take a medium quality pictures (some 5 years ago we were more than happy to have such a quality for the pictures), let Your will be done. We want nothing more than rely on You for 100%, otherwise we should fight for ourselves, because we didn’t have right heart.”

On the next day at the breakfast Alex said to me: “What if we should live with this camera for the rest of our life?”. But we both knew that “for the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him” (2 Chr. 16:9). We did what we could from our side now we wait upon the Lord and his miracle.

We didn’t know that it will come so soon...

That evening we were visiting our friends and were sharing our testimonies about financial miracles what happened in the end of the year (hope I’ll share it with you here as well), how God called us to Israel and also about our yesterday’s praying about the camera. 

Suddenly wife (we didn’t notice it, she told me later) at the time when I shared this was so touched so she wrote to her husband small note: “But we have that kind of camera! Could we bless them with it?”.

When we were already leaving the man came to us with bag, opened it and asked: “Zane, is this the camera what you were speaking about?”. For the big surprise for me I cried out: “No!”. Not because it was not that kind of the camera, but because I was so shocked that God answered to our prayer on the next day!!! Goosebumps were all over my body, what a joy I felt. 

They said that they don’t use it much and we will need this camera in Israel more than they in Sweden. Alex asked: “So we should give you back after the Israel trip?”. But husband answered: “For better conscience we are blessing  you with it, and if something will happen nobody will feel bad.” They add that they feel more blessed to give than us receive and God will bless them with new one;)

Can you imagine? Her answered! On the next day! It means that God wants us to have the best, He also likes good pictures;) But more tha that He likes humble hearts! 

So praise God we didn’t spend the Bible school money. Instead of that God changed our hearts and we learned important thing for the rest of our life - that we need to ask God for every decision in our way, EVERY! He is our Lord in every details not only where we would like Him to be.

So already two weeks we are taking pictures with the camera we dreamed about and Israel will be not only in our mind and heart for the rest of our life but also in the pictures.

P.s. Funny that Alex with this camera can serve others, his ministry in Bible school is taking photos on excursions for the school to use them later in website, materials etc. God knew;)
